Description

In the automotive sector, it is not uncommon to see two brands belonging to the same manufacturer targeting different market segments while sharing many similar processes and components (Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Toyota/Lexus, etc.).

The same analogy also exists in cutting tools with Diablo®/Freud. While the Freud brand is rather associated with industrial uses, i.e. thicker carbide, wider kerf and more elaborate choice, the Diablo® brand is aimed mainly at contractors and remodelers as well as small workshops.

One thing is for sure, with Diablo®, you are sure to get your money's worth.

You probably consider yourself a good cabinetmaker or carpenter and unfortunately, like the Boss, sometimes you have to cut some metal parts and you are not well equipped for that kind of work. The same goes if you are a DIY, you need to be sufficiently equipped to cope with most situations.

When cutting metal parts, we will often use a mini grinder on which we will install a standard cut-off wheel. Since the abrasive disc diameter decreases quickly, this also reduces its cutting capacity and that can make it difficult to finish the job. After a few uses, you must resign yourself to throw it away and buy another one.

The boss has recently tested a new Diablo blade aimed at cutting ferrous metals. He was so amazed that he decided to keep it. See his performances on our YouTube channel.

  • This blade is made of a metal body which gives it unparalleled rigidity when used with a mini grinder
  • The 4-½"(115mm) dia x 7/8" hole blade is lined with diamonds on its circumference
  • As opposed to an abrasive disc that will visibly shrink, the Diablo diamond blade keeps a constant diameter
  • In addition, the diamond provides a 100 x longer life time compared to an abrasive disc
  • The blade must be used for dry cutting only on ferrous metals like rebar, angle iron, steel pipe, steel bar and others

The Boss tried it and he adopted it!
