Feather boards are safety devices mainly used when working with stationary machines like a router table or a table saw. They can hold the workpiece against the fence or the table and prevent kickbacks. Although they are an economic way to save your fingers, they do have limitations. Jessem introduced the Clear-CutTM stock guides to remove these limitations:
- Operate on the same principle as a stock feeder in that the stock is guided at a slight angle (5°) toward the fence.
- The grip force of the urethane rollers holds the stock firmly to the fence.
- Each roller is fitted with a one way needle roller bearing that ensures it will spin only in the direction of the feed thus preventing anti-kickback.
- No retention spring and no weak clamping system; the guides can be independently mounted on a standard 1⁄4" T-slot usually found on table fences.
- No limitation: wide boards and large panels can be worked safely and precisely
- Total adjustment is 2-3⁄4" and maximum stock thickness is from the surface of the table to 9/16" below the center of the mounting T-slot.
- Fast and easy to set up, clamping knobs accept 1⁄4" hex Allen key for a more secure tightening. When not in use, guides just pivot out of the way.
- All components are CNC machined from the best materials for a nice appearance and maximum durability.
