Delivery & Returns
If you are a DIYer and like to fix things at home, a small belt & disc combination sander is probably an interesting alternative to be considered because of its great versatility. Regardless of the material used, metal – plastic – wood, it can serve different purposes such as deburring, polishing, sanding or sharpening, without interference, either on the belt or on the disc.
The belt makes sanding of concave shapes easy and allows to smooth out edges. Sharpening of scissors, knives and blades is done quickly and safely.
The disc is ideal for sanding convex shapes and squaring edges. It also has an advantage over the belt. By moving the point of contact between the edge of the disc (where the speed is at its maximum) and the center (where the speed is at its minimum) one can control the degree of aggressiveness of the sanding.
Among the range of sanders offered by Steel City, this benchtop model will allow you to perform a variety of odd jobs without affecting your budget. Its main features are:
- Powerful ½CV – 110V (6.2amp) motor
- Safety button switch with removable key
- Robust cast-iron construction
- Metal base with 4 anti-vibration rubber feet
- Quick release belt tension lever for fast belt change
- 2 back platens, 1"and 2" wide, depending on the belt width used
- 2 tilting cast iron tables including one with a T-Slot for accurate sanding on disc
- Metal miter gauge
- Dual 1-½" (38mm) dia dust extraction ports
Ideal for all kind of quick jobs!
Tip from the Boss: consider a coarser grain on the disc and a finer grain on the belt in order to use your sander at all times when small quick jobs pop-up unexpectedly.
