Wing compass are mainly used for precisely scribing arcs and circles on drawings and projects.
Two series are manufactured by GROZ; one has a metallic finish while the other is black powder coated; the Boss has selected the latter for the following reasons:
- Made from high grade steel, legs are machined flat to a smooth taper point hardened for increased wear resistance
- To secure legs exactly to dimension, legs pivot on a roller and are tensioned by a bow spring
- A finely machined and polished solid nut runs smoothly to adjust at the exact position
- The powder coated gives a silky smooth finish that makes it rust-proof
