Those who occasionally have to apply edge banding or do laminating often use a router bit equipped with a pilot ball bearing for trimming the edges. However this economic way of doing the job generates several problems caused more by the bearing than the cutter.
Indeed the bearing gets gunked up very quickly and as it spins at a high speed, it scratches the surface of the material. In addition, when there is an excess of laminate to remove, the bearing may seize up and mark the workpiece.
The Euro-Trimmer bit is designed to solve this problem. It is fitted with a square Teflon® sleeve that completely covers the ball bearing. The result:
- Glue won’t stick to or accumulate on the bearing
- Ball bearing won’t damage the surface because the sleeve does not rotate but rather glides on the surface
- Because there is no need to lubricate the surface, the work will be done in less time
- Dimensions : cutter 3/4" dia. x 9/16" height x 1⁄4" shank with 4° bevel for trimmers
