If you do a lot of table routing, using a lift on a routing table will be more than justified by ease of adjustment and the degree of additional precision obtained. It is no longer necessary to be a contortionist and you won’t need to bend over to make adjustments because they can all be made above the table.
CNC precision machined, the Steel City standard (not plunge) router lift is characterized by a cast aluminum body on which are mounted 4 threaded lift screws co-driven by chain and sprockets ensuring a perfectly perpendicular lifting. A set of 14 lubricated and sealed ball bearings ensures mechanism smoothness and durability. Everything is mounted on an anodized aluminum table plate.
Measuring 11-¾"(300mm) width x 9-1/4"(235mm) deep x 1/4"(6 mm) thick, the mounting plate has a 3-7/8"(98 mm) dia opening in the center which allows the use of reasonably large size tools.
The set also includes a phenolic insert ring with a 1-1/2"(38mm) dia. pre-bored hole and a spanner wrench to lock it in place as well as a starting pin designed to allow safe manual feeding in situations of freehand routing.
In addition, the lift is provided with a height adjustment system that allows a 3-1/2"(90 mm) lifting height with 2mm per turn of the crank. Finally, it is equipped with a locking mechanism which can be engaged directly over the table thus eliminating the need to lock the motor in its base after each adjustment.
This lift has an anodized aluminum clamping collar specifically designed to firmly maintain 4"dia standard router motors. Optional reduction shims are available for the smaller diameters like 3-1/2"(SCM47076) and 3-1/4"(SCM47077)
